Jal. Astros vs. Gambusinos

MEXICO CITY (Interstat) — The league-leading Jal. Astros visit the Gambusinos on Friday, July 24, in an LNBP matchup that pits one of the circuit’s best teams against one of its worst.

Jal. Astros (77-13) enter the game riding a wave of dominance. They own the league’s best record and have won three of their past four contests, including a 76-61 victory Tuesday at Guasave. In that game, center Makhi Mitchell recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, forward Tyran de Lattibeaudiere added nine points and nine rebounds, and point guard Jaron Martin scored a team-high 17 points with four assists.

The Astros have been particularly strong on the road. Their last three away games all resulted in wins, and they have dropped only one of their past seven overall — a 89-82 overtime loss at Guasave on June 20.

The Gambusinos (5-14), meanwhile, have struggled throughout the season. They have lost three straight and six of their last seven. Their most recent outing was a 94-91 defeat at Dorados on Oct. 3, 2025. Guard Michael Bryson, forward Manuel Hernandez and point guard Nick Tomsick were the team’s top performers in that contest, though specific statistics were not immediately available.

In head-to-head meetings, Jal. Astros have owned the matchup. The Astros beat the Gambusinos 84-74 on Sept. 4, 2025, and 100-76 the previous night. The Gambusinos have not beaten Jal. Astros in at least two seasons.

Friday’s game tips off at 7 p.m. local time. Jal. Astros will look to extend their dominance, while the Gambusinos hope to find some spark in front of their home crowd.
