GUADALAJARA, Mexico (Interstat) — Trey Burke scored 19 points with five rebounds and five assists to lead the Jal. Astros to an 85-73 victory over the Guasave Frayles on Tuesday in Game 1 of the CIBACOPA playoff series. The Astros, who now lead the best-of-seven series 1-0, overcame a 48-38 halftime deficit by outscoring Guasave 23-10 in the third quarter and 24-15 in the fourth. Sindarius Thornwell registered a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Yoanki Mansia added 13 points and 12 rebounds. Tyran de Lattibeaudiere contributed 15 points. Sa’eed Nelson paced Guasave with six points and three assists. The Frayles shot poorly in the second half after a strong opening. Jal. Astros improved to 74-12, while Guasave fell to 30-18. Game 2 is Wednesday at the same venue.
