AVILA, Venezuela (Interstat) — Luis Martinez scored 22 points and collected five rebounds as the Caracas Cocodrilos defeated Avila 91-88 on Tuesday in Venezuelan SLB play.

The Cocodrilos improved to 20-6 and avenged a 77-71 loss to Avila the previous night, splitting the two-game series. Avila dropped to 15-14.

Martinez added four assists and two blocks for Caracas. Heissler Guillen led Avila with 25 points, five rebounds and three assists. Anyeuri Alberto Castillo Correa posted 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Jovanni Diaz added 12 points and eight rebounds. Edgar Martinez Ramos scored nine points for the home team.

Caracas held a lead for most of the second half and withstood a late Avila push. The game featured multiple lead changes early. The Cocodrilos shot efficiently but exact percentages were not immediately available.
