CARACAS, Venezuela (Interstat) — The Margarita Guaiqueries will face the Miranda Miranda on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Jose Joaquin Carrillo Gymnasium in a Venezuelan SLB matchup.
Margarita (14-7) enters the game riding a wave of momentum, having won its last two outings, including a 71-67 victory at Portuguesa on Wednesday, April 29. The Guaiqueries have been dominant in recent weeks, winning seven of their last 10 contests. Their offense has been powered by consistent production from forward Juan Guerrero, who posted 20 points and 16 rebounds in the win over Portuguesa. Over his last six games, Guerrero has recorded five double-doubles and is averaging 18.3 points and 11.7 rebounds per contest during that span.
Miranda (1-19) is mired in a difficult season, having lost 17 consecutive games. The lone win came on April 2 against La Guaira. In its most recent outing on Tuesday, April 28, Miranda fell 77-73 at home to Carabobo. Guard Tae Williams led the way in that loss with 16 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Williams has been a consistent bright spot for Miranda, averaging 15.1 points and 5.5 rebounds over his last eight games, though he has yet to experience a victory in that stretch.
The two teams met most recently on April 6, when Margarita escaped with an 85-76 overtime win at home. Margarita has won the last three head-to-head meetings, all by margins of eight points or fewer. The Guaiqueries also defeated Miranda 98-77 on April 16 in Caracas.
Friday’s game marks the third of four regular-season meetings between the clubs. Margarita will look to continue its push toward the top of the standings, while Miranda seeks to snap a skid that extends back to early April. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. local time.
