SCARBOROUGH, Ontario (Interstat) — The Scarborough Shooting Stars will aim to remain unbeaten when they host the Hamilton Honey Badgers on Monday at Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre in a Canadian Elite Basketball League matchup.

Scarborough enters the game with a 1-0 record after defeating Hamilton 117-104 on Saturday. Hamilton is 0-1 after that same loss.

The Shooting Stars were led Saturday by Myles Powell with 27 points and Terquavion Smith with 25 points and seven assists. Forward Frank Mitchell added 15 points and a game-high 17 rebounds. Mitchell has been a force on the boards, posting double-doubles in three of his last four games, including a 22-point, 14-rebound effort at Ottawa on July 22.

Hamilton will lean on guard Sean East, who recorded 16 points, seven rebounds and eight assists in Saturday’s loss. East has averaged 26 points over his last four games, including a 38-point performance at Winnipeg on July 25. Trentyn Flowers also contributed 20 points and nine rebounds Saturday, while Tegra Izay added 14 points.

Monday’s game gives Hamilton a chance to split the two-game season series after falling at home in the opener. Scarborough will look to use its home court at the Pan Am Sports Centre to build momentum early in the CEBL season.

Tipoff is scheduled for Monday evening.
