ARECIBO, Puerto Rico (Interstat) — The Santurce Cangrejeros overcame a third-quarter deficit Thursday night, defeating the Arecibo Capitanes 87-83 at Manuel Iguina Coliseum in a BSN contest. Santurce took control early, leading 22-15 after the first quarter and 42-38 at halftime. Arecibo turned the game around with a 28-21 third quarter, claiming a 66-63 advantage. The Cangrejeros responded with a decisive 24-17 run in the final period, holding Arecibo to 17 points to seal the victory.

Justin Reyes paced Arecibo with 26 points, four rebounds and three blocks. Jordan Howard led Santurce with 19 points and five assists. Davon Jefferson contributed 14 points and eight rebounds, D.J. Wilson narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds, and Ian Clark and Angel Rodriguez added 16 and 14 points respectively. For Arecibo, Timothy Soares posted 13 points and six rebounds, Jack McVeigh scored 16, R.J. Melendez had 12 points and six rebounds, and Isaiah Pineiro chipped in nine points and eight rebounds for Santurce.

Santurce improved to 6-10, while Arecibo fell to 12-5, ending a four-game winning streak. The game featured strong contributions from multiple players on both sides.
