BRASÍLIA, Brazil (Interstat) — Facundo Corvalan scored 19 points to lead UNICEUB to a 79-73 victory over Botafogo in a Brazilian NBB game Friday at Ginasio da ASCEB.

The home team never trailed after the first quarter, using a 23-point third period to build a cushion. Corvalan, a guard from Argentina, added eight rebounds and five assists for UNICEUB, which improved to 17-8. Bruno Cardoso contributed 11 points, nine rebounds and five blocks.

Emanuel Matias scored 14 points for Botafogo, which fell to 6-18. The visitors closed within four points in the final period but could not complete the comeback.
