Diablos Rojos vs. Jal. Astros
GUADALAJARA, Mexico (Interstat) — The red-hot Jal. Astros, owners of the Mexican LNBP’s best record at 22-1, host the surging Diablos Rojos on Monday in a clash of league heavyweights at Unidad Deportiva Avila Camacho.
The Astros have been nearly perfect this season and enter on a nine-game winning streak, most recently routing Xalapa 101-58 on Oct. 13. They have dominated the head-to-head series this season, sweeping a two-game set in September against the Diablos Rojos (15-8), winning 89-80 and 81-79.
Chavaughn Lewis leads a balanced Astros attack, coming off a 26-point performance in their last outing.
The visiting Diablos Rojos have won three of their last four games, including an 89-83 victory over Dorados on Friday. Daishon Smith paced that win with 18 points and seven assists, while Malik Dime added 15 points and seven rebounds.
Monday’s contest is the first of three consecutive games between the two teams, with the series shifting to the Diablos Rojos’ home court later in the week.
