Atlanta vs. Dallas
WNBA: Dream at Wings
ARLINGTON, Texas (Interstat) — The Atlanta Dream visit the Dallas Wings on Tuesday at College Park Center in a matchup of two teams opening the season with 1-0 records.
Atlanta comes in as a 1.5-point favorite, with the over/under set at 178.
The Dream opened their season Saturday with a 91-90 victory at Minnesota. Guard Allisha Gray led Atlanta with 24 points, eight rebounds and three assists in 33 minutes. Forward Angel Reese added 11 points and 14 rebounds, and guard Rhyne Howard contributed 15 points and six rebounds.
Gray, a former All-Star, will be a key player for Atlanta as the Dream look to build on their narrow win.
Dallas also started Saturday with a victory, beating Indiana 107-104 on the road. Forward Jessica Shepard nearly posted a triple-double with 13 points, nine rebounds and nine assists in 32 minutes. Guard Paige Bueckers scored 20 points, and guard Arike Ogunbowale led the Wings with 22 points.
Shepard’s all-around performance makes her a player to watch for Dallas.
Tuesday’s game will be the first meeting between the teams this season. The teams were scheduled to play Monday, but that game ended in a 0-0 score, indicating it was not played.
The Wings will look to use home-court advantage at College Park Center to even the early-season series.
Following Tuesday’s game, Atlanta returns home to host Las Vegas on May 16 and May 17. Dallas hosts Minnesota on May 14 before a homestand against Washington on May 18.
The game tips off at 7 p.m. CDT.
