Las Vegas vs. Los Angeles
WNBA: Aces at Sparks Preview
LOS ANGELES (Interstat) — The Las Vegas Aces will look to bounce back from a lopsided season-opening loss when they visit the Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday at Crypto.com Arena.
Tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. PDT.
Las Vegas (0-1) is coming off a 99-66 defeat at home against the Phoenix Mercury on Saturday. A’ja Wilson led the Aces with 19 points, four rebounds and four assists in 24 minutes. NaLyssa Smith added 11 points and six rebounds, and Chennedy Carter chipped in 10 points off the bench.
The Aces struggled offensively, shooting 36 percent from the field and committing 16 turnovers. Phoenix outscored Las Vegas 54-30 in the paint.
Los Angeles (0-0) will play its season opener Sunday. The Sparks last took the court in a 103-75 loss to the Aces on Sept. 11, 2025, at Crypto.com Arena.
Los Angeles will look to start the season on a positive note after finishing with a losing record last year. The Sparks have not played a competitive game since that September matchup.
Wilson, the two-time WNBA MVP, will be a focal point for the Aces. She averaged 26.7 points and 12.3 rebounds over her final three games of the 2025 season. The Sparks will need to contain her inside presence and limit her touches in the paint.
Las Vegas will face a busy early-season schedule after Sunday’s matchup. The Aces travel to Connecticut for a two-game set against the Sun on May 13 and May 15 before heading to Atlanta for back-to-back games against the Dream on May 16 and May 17.
Los Angeles also begins a stretch of four home games in five days starting Wednesday against the Indiana Fever. The Sparks host Toronto on Friday and Saturday before facing the Tempo again on May 17.
Sunday’s game marks the first of four regular-season meetings between the Aces and Sparks this season. The teams will meet again in Las Vegas on May 23 and in Los Angeles on June 2.
