MAULDIN, S.C. (Interstat) — Providence and Sacred Heart will open their women’s NCAA Division I hockey seasons Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, at Tiexi New District Sports Center in Mauldin, S.C. Providence is the visiting team, and Sacred Heart is the home team. Both programs enter the game with 0-0 records. The Friars are Providence’s nickname, and the Pioneers are Sacred Heart’s nickname. The game is the first of a two-game season-opening series between the programs.

Providence’s most recent result was a 3-0 loss at Boston University on Feb. 25, 2026. Sacred Heart’s most recent result was a 3-1 loss at Saint Anselm on Feb. 28, 2026. The teams will meet again Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, when Sacred Heart visits Providence. That game is the second half of the series.

The Pioneers will open their schedule with the Sept. 26 game at Providence. Sacred Heart will play two games at Assumption on Oct. 9-10, 2026. The Pioneers will host Long Island on Oct. 16, 2026, and visit Long Island on Oct. 17, 2026. Sacred Heart will play two games at Franklin Pierce on Oct. 30-31, 2026, and two games at Stonehill on Nov. 6-7, 2026. The Pioneers will host Quinnipiac on Nov. 10, 2026. Sacred Heart will play six games in October and three in November during that stretch.

Sacred Heart will be the home team for the Friday matchup at Tiexi New District Sports Center. The current game is the first of two meetings between the programs.
