RPI Engineers at Minnesota State Mavericks
MANKATO, Minn. (Interstat) — RPI will visit Minnesota State for a women’s NCAA Division I hockey game Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, at Verizon Wireless Center in Mankato, Minnesota. The Engineers are the visiting team, and the Mavericks are the home team. RPI enters 0-2, while Minnesota State is 0-0 and will open its season.
RPI has dropped both games at Mercyhurst. The Engineers fell 3-1 on Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, then lost 3-0 on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026. In the most recent defeat, goaltender Reese Keating stopped 43 of 45 shots in the loss. Left wing Keira Johnson recorded two shots on goal, and center Michaela Littlewood added one. Littlewood is a player to watch for RPI. She had one shot on goal in the Sept. 19 game and two shots on goal in the Sept. 18 game.
Minnesota State has not played this season. The Mavericks’ most recent result was a 7-2 loss at Wisconsin on Thursday, March 5, 2026. The Mavericks will play their first game since that loss and their first home game of the new season against an RPI team still searching for offensive consistency. The Engineers have managed one goal through two games.
This game is the first of a two-game series. RPI will remain in Mankato for a Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, rematch with Minnesota State. After that, the Engineers return home to face Northeastern on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026. The Engineers will play their next seven games at home after the trip to Mankato. RPI also has home series against Robert Morris on Oct. 9-10, Maine on Oct. 16-17, and Princeton and Quinnipiac on Oct. 23-24 before road games at Colgate on Oct. 30 and Cornell on Oct. 31.
Minnesota State follows the RPI series with home games against Saint Cloud State on Friday, Oct. 2 and Saturday, Oct. 3. The Mavericks then visit Wisconsin on Oct. 16-17, host Robert Morris on Oct. 23, travel to Boston College on Monday, Oct. 26, play at St. Thomas on Oct. 30, host St. Thomas on Oct. 31, and visit Bemidji State on Nov. 13.
RPI’s recent schedule has been difficult, with both losses coming on the road at Mercyhurst. The Engineers will look to Littlewood and Johnson to help generate scoring chances. Keating’s workload in the crease will be a key part of the matchup. The Mavericks will aim to shake off the long layoff and start their home schedule with a strong defensive effort.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a final score of Minnesota State 2, RPI 0.
