ERIE, Pa. (Interstat) — Regina Metzler had one goal and one assist and Magdalena Luggin made 18 saves as Mercyhurst beat RPI 3-1 on Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, in a women’s NCAA Division I hockey game. Julia Perjus scored once, Holly VanNetten added two assists, Georgia Bailey assisted once, Kate Donegan scored, Naomi Forand scored for RPI, and Mariia Polozkova recorded one assist. Metzler also had five shots and one hit. Donegan opened the scoring, with assists from Metzler and VanNetten. Forand tied it, assisted by Bailey and Mia Montanari. Perjus scored the go-ahead goal, assisted by Sofia Nuutinen and Polozkova, and Metzler added an insurance goal with assists from VanNetten and Abby Poitras. VanNetten finished with two shots. Perjus added five shots and two penalty minutes, while Polozkova recorded five shots. Luggin earned the win. Mercyhurst improved to 1-0, while the RPI Engineers dropped to 0-1. Attendance was 500. Mercyhurst hosts RPI again Saturday.
