Delaware at Union

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Union women’s hockey team will look for a second consecutive decisive victory when it hosts Delaware again on Saturday at Achilles Rink.

The Garnet Chargers (7-7-2) dominated the Blue Hens 7-0 on Friday night. Stephanie Bourque led the way with a goal and four assists, while Karianne Engelbert scored twice and added an assist. Megan Duplantie also had a three-point afternoon with a goal and two assists.

Union, which sits at .500 overall, has shown flashes of strong offense this season, including a 7-goal outing against RPI earlier this month. The Garnet Chargers will aim to carry the momentum from Friday’s win into the weekend finale.

Delaware (2-15) has struggled to find consistent offense, having been shut out in eight of its 17 games this season, including the loss to Union on Friday. The Blue Hens’ only win since early November came in a 5-3 victory over Lindenwood on Nov. 14.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, Union is projected to win a closer contest Saturday, with a final score of 2-1.

Following this two-game set, Union will hit the road for ECAC matchups at Harvard and Dartmouth next weekend. Delaware will travel to face RIT in its next series.
