Post at Saint Anselm
MANCHESTER, N.H. (Interstat) — The Saint Anselm Hawks will look to continue their recent dominance over the Post Eagles when the women’s hockey teams meet in a nonconference matchup Friday at Sullivan Arena.
The Hawks (13-12-2) swept a two-game series at Post in November, winning 4-2 and 4-0. Saint Anselm has struggled lately, however, dropping three straight, including a 3-1 loss at Sacred Heart on Saturday. Center Lucy DeCoteau scored the lone goal in that contest and has three goals and an assist in her last five games, providing a key offensive spark.
The Eagles (9-16-1) enter with momentum from a weekend sweep of Saint Michael’s, highlighted by a 4-2 victory on Saturday. Left wing Noa Farberman was instrumental, scoring two goals on five shots. She has three goals in her last five outings and will be central to Post’s attempt to reverse its fortunes against Saint Anselm.
Post’s recent results have been inconsistent, alternating wins and losses over its past six games. Saint Anselm’s skid followed a strong stretch that included consecutive shutout wins at Saint Michael’s.
The game is the first of a home-and-home set, with the teams scheduled to meet again in Manchester on Saturday. Following this series, both teams dive back into conference play next weekend.
Puck drop is scheduled for 6 p.m. EST Friday at Sullivan Arena on the campus of Saint Anselm College.
