Sepsi SIC vs. CSM Sportul

Preview: Sepsi SIC Looks to Continue Dominance Against CSM Sportul

BUCHAREST, Romania (Interstat) — A lopsided recent history will be on the minds of both teams when Sepsi SIC visits CSM Sportul in a Romanian women’s professional basketball matchup Saturday.

The clubs last met on Nov. 30, 2025, a 107-42 rout by Sepsi SIC. That result fits the current trajectories of the teams. Sepsi SIC arrives with a 13-9 record across all competitions, while CSM Sportul sits at 5-9.

Sepsi SIC is riding high after a historic 124-19 victory over Olimpia on Jan. 30, where Patricia Harangus starred with 24 points and eight rebounds in 26 minutes. The team has won three straight and five of its last six games, showcasing a potent offense that has regularly exceeded 100 points.

CSM Sportul, however, enters with momentum from a road win, having defeated CSUP Timisoara 74-52 on Jan. 31. Agnes Zane powered that victory with a double-double of 10 points and 13 rebounds. Her consistent presence on the boards will be critical against a deep Sepsi SIC frontcourt.

For Sepsi SIC, Harangus is the key offensive catalyst, but she is supported by a strong core including Alexandra Ghita, who posted 18 points and 11 rebounds in the last outing. CSM Sportul will counter with Zane and forward Anisia Puscasu, who had 19 points and 14 rebounds in the win over Timisoara.

The matchup pits one of the league’s most explosive offenses against a CSM Sportul squad seeking to build on its most complete performance of the season. CSM Sportul’s challenge will be containing Sepsi SIC’s scoring barrage, which overwhelmed them by 65 points in November.

The game is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, in Bucharest.
