Ganzhou vs. Hefei
HEFEI, China (Interstat) — The most dominant team in the league will look to continue its reign against its most struggling opponent Sunday when Hefei hosts Ganzhou in a women’s professional basketball game.
The matchup presents a stark contrast in fortunes. Hefei enters with a sterling 17-2 record across all competitions, having won 11 consecutive games. Ganzhou, meanwhile, has found victories scarce, posting a 1-18 mark. Their lone win this season came against Fujian on Jan. 14.
Hefei has utterly controlled the recent series, winning the last three meetings by an average of 40.3 points. That includes a 94-54 rout just three days prior, on Thursday, Jan. 29. In that game, Hefei’s Phillipina Kyei was remarkably efficient, scoring 10 points and grabbing six rebounds in only 10 minutes of play.
Kyei has been a force for Hefei all season. In a Jan. 23 win over Liaoning, she posted 25 points and 15 rebounds. Her consistent production in limited minutes highlights the depth and talent of the league-leading Hefei squad.
Ganzhou will again rely on guard Yang Kejing, who leads her team in all-around play. In the Jan. 29 loss to Hefei, Yang logged 36 minutes, contributing 11 points, eight rebounds and four assists. She recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 assists in a narrow loss to Fujian on Jan. 17.
Despite Yang’s efforts, Ganzhou has struggled offensively, failing to reach 70 points in eight of its last 10 games. Containing Hefei’s balanced attack, which has scored 90 or more points in nine of its last 11 outings, presents a monumental challenge.
The game is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, in Hefei. Based on the trajectory of both teams and their recent head-to-head results, Hefei is positioned as an overwhelming favorite to extend its winning streak.
