NANJING, China (Interstat) — Beijing defeated Jiangsu 83-78 in a women’s professional basketball game Sunday, overcoming a dominant performance by Jiangsu center Xu Chenyan.

Xu scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the home team. Jazmine Jones added 19 points and five assists for Jiangsu. Beijing countered with balanced scoring, led by Zheng Ming’s 17 points and seven assists and Alice Kunek’s 15 points and five assists. The victory improved Beijing’s record to 6-16 across all competitions, while Jiangsu fell to 12-10. Jiangsu had won the previous meeting between the teams on Dec. 31.
