SYDNEY, Australia (Interstat) — The Sydney Flames defeated the Geelong women’s basketball team 97-94 on Wednesday afternoon in a tightly contested National Basketball League game. Mackenzie Holmes led all scorers with 28 points and 10 rebounds for Geelong in the loss. The Flames were paced by Keely Froling, who scored 24 points, and Unique Thompson, who added 17 points and nine rebounds. Both teams are now 3-6 on the season. The game was a reversal of their Oct. 18 meeting, which the Flames also won.
