BUCHAREST, Romania (Interstat) — A surging Agronomia squad will look to build on a historic victory when it visits a struggling CSM Sportul team in a women’s professional basketball matchup Saturday.

Agronomia (1-1) is coming off a dominant 79-37 win over Olimpia on Monday, where Irina Teodosiu recorded a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Bianca Stan added 14 points and Maria Alexe scored a team-high 15 points in the lopsided victory. The team’s season, however, has been one of extremes, having opened with a 101-50 loss to U-Cluj Napoca.

They face a CSM Sportul (0-3) team desperate for its first win. Sportul is reeling from a 97-59 defeat to U-Cluj Napoca last Saturday. Anisia Puscasu has been a bright spot, scoring 20 points in that contest, while Agnes Zane added 17 points. The team has struggled defensively, conceding an average of over 99 points per game in its three losses.

The Interstat game simulator projects a high-scoring affair, favoring Agronomia 123-100.

The game will be played in Bucharest.
