LULEA, Sweden (Interstat) — Fanny Wadling fell just short of a triple-double as Lulea edged Uppsala 71-66 in a women’s professional basketball game Friday.

Wadling, Lulea’s top star, powered the home team with 16 rebounds and eight assists to go with seven points. Jewel Spear led all scorers with 29 points for Lulea, which improved to 22-2 overall.

Stephanie Visscher scored 20 points for Uppsala, which got 16 points from Marissa Pangalos and 15 from Johanna Prytz. Uppsala dropped to 18-5.

Lulea, which was projected as a heavy favorite, also got 13 points from Sofia Persson. The teams split their season series, with each winning on its home court.
