Brahe vs. Visby
Preview: Brahe Visits Visby in Battle of Struggling Sides
VISBY, Sweden (Interstat) — Two teams seeking to halt prolonged slides will meet Friday when Brahe visits Visby in a women’s professional basketball matchup.
The game, scheduled for March 20, 2026, in Visby, Sweden, pits clubs with a combined 8-38 record across all competitions this season. Brahe (6-17) enters as the visiting favorite, having defeated Visby 95-67 in their most recent meeting on Oct. 4, 2025. Visby (2-21) remains anchored at the bottom of the standings.
Brahe, despite its losing record, has shown marginally better form. It is led by forward Eira Borgh, who has been a consistent performer during a tough stretch. In her last three games, Borgh averaged 15.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists, including a 22-point, 9-rebound effort in a loss to Sodertalje on Feb. 28. She posted 12 points and 8 rebounds in Brahe’s most recent outing, a 106-76 home loss to Hogsbo on March 7.
The home side will counter with guard Nela Netkova, Visby’s most reliable contributor. Netkova is coming off a dominant double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds in a 96-52 loss at Sodertalje on March 8. She has recorded a double-double in two of her last three contests.
Both teams are mired in significant losing streaks. Brahe has dropped three straight and 10 of its last 11 games. Visby’s struggles are more profound, having lost 11 consecutive games, often by lopsided margins. In its current skid, Visby has lost by an average of 36.5 points.
Friday’s contest represents one of the more winnable opportunities on either schedule this season. For Brahe, it’s a chance to build on its prior head-to-head success and distance itself from the cellar. For Visby, it’s an opportunity to find any positive momentum in a dismal campaign and avoid a season sweep.
Tip-off is set for Friday evening at Visby Arena.
