Sodertalje vs. AIK

Preview: AIK Hosts Sodertalje in Key Women’s Basketball Clash

SOLNA, Sweden (March 20, 2026) (Interstat) — A pivotal women’s professional basketball matchup is set for Saturday when AIK hosts Sodertalje at Solna Hallen.

Both teams enter the contest with winning records and positioning in mind. AIK (15-8 overall) holds a slight edge in the standings over Sodertalje (14-9). Their previous meeting this season was a tight affair, with AIK securing an 84-80 road victory on Oct. 22, 2025.

AIK looks to build on a narrow 69-66 home win over Malbas on March 7. In that game, guard Tiffany Brown was dominant, logging 39 minutes and finishing with 24 points, eight rebounds and nine assists. Brown’s all-around play has been a catalyst for AIK; she also recorded a 10-assist performance in a 105-55 rout of RIG Lulea on Feb. 21.

Sodertalje, however, arrives with significant momentum from a 96-52 blowout of Visby on March 8. Point guard Patricia Elias orchestrated the victory efficiently, scoring 19 points and dishing six assists in just 25 minutes. She also contributed four rebounds. Forward Louice Halvarsson led all scorers in that game with 25 points.

The visiting squad has shown offensive firepower, scoring over 100 points in two of its last three games, including a 103-59 win over Brahe on Feb. 28. AIK’s defense, which allowed 80 points in a loss to Lulea on Feb. 20 but has since tightened up, will be tested.

Key matchups will include the battle at point guard between AIK’s Brown and Sodertalje’s Elias, as well as Sodertalje’s interior presence of Halvarsson against AIK’s frontcourt.

AIK has been strong at home recently, while Sodertalje has proven capable on the road, setting the stage for a competitive encounter with potential playoff implications.

Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at Solna Hallen.
