AIK vs. Lulea

Preview: AIK at Lulea, Women’s Basketball

LULEA, Sweden (Interstat) — A stark contrast in form will be on display Friday when the surging Lulea hosts a struggling AIK in a Swedish women’s professional basketball matchup.

Lulea (17-2), one of the league’s dominant forces, enters the contest riding a wave of blowout victories. Their most recent performance was a 110-50 demolition of Brahe on Feb. 13, a game in which forward Fanny Wadling stuffed the stat sheet with 17 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in just 25 minutes. Wadling has been a consistent triple-double threat, averaging a near double-double over her last four games.

They face an AIK squad (13-7) looking to rebound from a lopsided 90-62 road loss to Uppsala on Feb. 11. In that defeat, guard Ellen Hahne led AIK with 11 points, six rebounds and three assists. Hahne’s all-around play will be critical; she recorded a double-double (11 points, 10 rebounds) in a Jan. 24 loss to Brahe.

The head-to-head history further favors the hosts. When these teams met in Stockholm on Jan. 4, Lulea secured a convincing 80-64 victory. AIK’s schedule does not get easier, as they must travel to face RIG Lulea the following night.

Lulea’s offensive firepower has been overwhelming, scoring 129 and 110 points in its last two wins. AIK’s defense, which allowed 90 points in its last outing, faces its toughest test of the season. Containing Wadling and stopping Lulea’s transition game will be paramount for the visitors to have a chance at the upset.

The game is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, at Lulea’s home court in Lulea, Sweden.
