Nottingham vs. Newcastle

Preview: Nottingham Faces Newcastle in Women’s Basketball Clash

NEWCASTLE, United Kingdom (Interstat) — A stark contrast in form will be on display Saturday when the Newcastle women host Nottingham in a British professional basketball matchup.

Newcastle (9-5) enters the contest at home riding a two-game winning streak and positioned near the top of the standings. Nottingham (4-11) seeks to halt a two-game skid and reverse a season of struggle.

The head-to-head history heavily favors the hosts. In their most recent meeting on Nov. 29, 2025, Newcastle delivered a commanding 85-56 road victory over Nottingham.

Newcastle’s success is fueled by forward Andrea Daley, who is coming off a dominant performance. In a 64-61 win over Manchester on April 2, Daley posted 21 points and 15 rebounds. She earlier scored 33 points in a victory over Leicester on March 20, establishing herself as a primary scoring and rebounding force.

Nottingham will look to guard Kalaya Buggs to provide a counterpunch. Buggs is coming off a strong all-around effort in a 71-63 loss to Oaklands on April 4, where she led her team with 18 points, seven rebounds and four assists in 35 minutes.

Newcastle’s most recent result was its tight win over Manchester, powered by Daley’s double-double and support from Shanique Lucas (15 points) and Sarah Wells (12 points). Nottingham, in its same-day loss to Oaklands, saw notable contributions from Jo Langbehn (10 points, eight rebounds) and Shaniya Rose McDonald (eight points, six rebounds) alongside Buggs.

Following this game, Newcastle will visit Oaklands on April 18. Nottingham’s next fixture is at home against Essex on April 18.

Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday at a venue in Newcastle.
