Cardiff vs. Leicester
LEICESTER (Interstat) — The Britain in United Kingdom women’s professional basketball schedule offers a Saturday matchup between two struggling clubs, as Leicester hosts Cardiff on April 25, 2026.
Leicester (3-14) welcomes Cardiff (0-17) to Leicester in a game between squads desperate for momentum. The home side has lost eight of its last nine outings since a 72-76 decision at Newcastle on March 20. Most recently, Leicester fell 106-67 at Sheffield on April 18, despite 13 points, four rebounds and eight assists from guard Brooke Bigott.
Bigott, a player to watch for Leicester, has been a consistent facilitator. In her past three games, she averaged 6.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists. However, she was held to one point against Caledonia on April 4, and the team has struggled to generate consistent offense, averaging 63.2 points per game in losses.
Cardiff remains winless through 17 contests, with its closest defeat a 65-80 decision at Essex on Feb. 28. The Cardinals are coming off a 71-51 loss at London on April 18, but forward Amelia Scharpf delivered a strong individual performance with 17 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 39 minutes.
Scharpf, a player to watch for Cardiff, has been the team’s most productive player. Over her last four games, she averaged 12.8 points and 7.8 rebounds while logging heavy minutes. She posted a double-double against Caledonia on April 11 (12 points, 12 rebounds) and recorded 16 points and five rebounds at Sheffield on March 28.
Cardiff’s season has been marked by lopsided defeats, including a 108-56 home loss to Caledonia and a 105-53 defeat at Newcastle. The Cardinals have allowed 100 or more points in four of their last five games.
In the most recent head-to-head meeting this season, Leicester defeated Cardiff 95-72 on Nov. 1, 2025, in Leicester. The rematch offers Cardiff a chance to earn its first win, while Leicester hopes to build on its head-to-head success.
Tipoff is scheduled for Saturday at Leicester.
