Treviso vs. Umbertide
UMBERBIDE, Italy (Interstat) — A struggling Treviso side will look to replicate its lone bright spot of the season when it visits Umbertide in an Italy A1 women’s professional basketball matchup on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026.
Treviso (2-16) enters on a five-game losing streak, including a 48-77 home defeat to Faenza on Feb. 14. Its only victories this season came against Cagliari on Jan. 18 and, notably, Umbertide in a 62-59 home win on Dec. 18. That result represents Treviso’s best chance for optimism, having proven it can compete with this opponent.
The visitor’s hopes will again rest heavily on forward Sveva Nicora, who is coming off a 15-point, 9-rebound performance in 40 minutes against Faenza. She has logged heavy minutes consistently for a team often outmatched.
Umbertide (10-8), however, has enjoyed a markedly stronger campaign and will be favored at home. The team has dropped its last three contests, however, including a narrow 73-76 road loss to Bolzano on Feb. 14. In that game, Swiss guard Giorgia Amatori led the way with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Amatori has been a key offensive catalyst and will be central to halting Umbertide’s current slide.
The December meeting suggests a potential for a competitive game despite the stark disparity in records. Treviso’s defense managed to contain Umbertide’s attack in that encounter, but doing so on the road presents a greater challenge. Umbertide will seek to leverage its interior presence, including center Beatrice Baldi, to control the paint and avoid a season sweep by the league’s last-place team.
For Treviso, finding secondary scoring beyond Nicora is critical. Elea Jacquot and Benedetta Bocchetti provided support in the last outing and will need to do so again. For Umbertide, stabilizing its offense after three consecutive sub-77-point performances is the priority as it aims to solidify its position in the league standings.
Tip-off is scheduled for Sunday in Umbertide.
