Alpo vs. Treviso

Preview: Alpo Looks to Extend Dominance Against Struggling Treviso

TREVISO, Italy (Interstat) — A stark contrast in fortunes will be on display Saturday when first-place Alpo visits last-place Treviso in an Italy A1 women’s professional basketball matchup.

The game, scheduled for March 14, 2026, in Treviso, pits a powerhouse against a team mired in a difficult season. Alpo enters with a formidable 15-5 record across all competitions, while Treviso has managed just two wins against 18 losses.

Alpo, which defeated Cagliari 69-54 on March 7, is led by guard Antonia Peresson. She is coming off a 19-point, 5-rebound, 4-assist performance in that victory and has been a consistent force. In a Feb. 14 win over Ragusa, Peresson nearly recorded a 20-20 game with 16 points and 19 rebounds.

Treviso, routed 93-66 by Basket Alcamo in its last outing on Feb. 28, relies heavily on the production of Benedetta Bocchetti. Despite the team’s struggles, Bocchetti has been a standout, scoring 30 points in a loss to Umbertide on Feb. 22 and 24 points in the defeat to Alcamo.

The teams last met on Dec. 3, 2025, with Alpo securing a 71-61 home victory. The historical result and the current standings heavily favor the visitors.

For Alpo, center Serena Soglia, who scored 20 points against Cagliari, provides a strong interior presence alongside Peresson. Treviso will need significant contributions from Matilde Baron and Sveva Nicora, who each played all 40 minutes and scored in double figures in the last game, to have a chance at an upset.

The matchup presents a clear opportunity for Alpo to solidify its top position, while Treviso seeks a rare bright spot in a challenging campaign. Treviso’s defense, which has allowed an average of 78.5 points per game in its last four outings, will be tested by Alpo’s balanced attack.

Following this game, Alpo will host Faenza on March 21. Treviso’s next contest is at home against Matelica on March 28.
