CHARTRES, France (Interstat) — A surging Landes squad looks to continue its dominant start to the season when it visits a Chartres team seeking consistency in a Euroleague Women matchup on Friday.

The game pits one of the league’s top teams against a .500 club in a cross-classification contest. Landes (9-2) enters on a four-game winning streak, most recently defeating Mersin 66-55 on Tuesday. Julie Wojta led the way with 12 points and seven rebounds, while Camille Droguet dished out seven assists.

Chartres (3-3) is looking to rebound from a 67-60 loss to Landerneau last Sunday. In that game, Assitan Kone scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds for Chartres.

Landes has found success with a balanced attack and strong defense, holding opponents to an average of 62.5 points during its current win streak. Its only two losses this season came by a combined five points.

Chartres has shown flashes of potential, including a 76-73 victory over Montpellier and an 89-78 win over Angers this season. The team will rely on the interior presence of Kone and Nicole Enabosi to challenge Landes’s formidable frontcourt.

The matchup will be a test of Landes’s road prowess against a Chartres team protecting its home court.
