Chartres vs. Villeneuve

VILLENEUVE, France (Interstat) — A stark contrast in form will be on display Saturday when Villeneuve hosts Chartres in a Eurocup Women basketball matchup.

Villeneuve (21-12 across all competitions) enters the contest riding momentum from a 78-70 victory over Athinaikos on Wednesday. Chartres (4-15), meanwhile, has lost three straight and 12 of its last 13 games, including an 82-85 home defeat to Flammes on Feb. 22.

The teams last met on Dec. 6, 2025, with Villeneuve securing a 78-60 road win.

Chartres will lean heavily on guard Jasmine Bailey, who has been a consistent bright spot during the team’s struggles. Over her last three games, Bailey has averaged 14.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists, including an 18-point, 11-rebound, 8-assist performance in a loss to Landerneau on Feb. 7.

Villeneuve counters with dynamic point guard Alexis Peterson, who is coming off a 15-point, 8-assist effort in the win over Athinaikos. Peterson has scored in double figures in six consecutive games, averaging 16.2 points and 3.8 assists over that stretch. Her backcourt mate, Ameryst Alston, added 18 points in the midweek victory.

Chartres has struggled defensively, allowing an average of 77.2 points per game during its current three-game skid. Villeneuve has won three of its last four, averaging 76.0 points per game in those victories.

The home court advantage at Villeneuve has been significant this season, with the team boasting a strong record in front of its supporters. Chartres has found wins hard to come by both at home and on the road.

Following this game, Villeneuve will travel to face Landes on March 24. Chartres’ next contest is at home against Lyon on March 24.

Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2026, in Villeneuve.
