Top-Tier Turkey A Clash Set as Istanbul GSK Visits Samsun Ihtisas

SAMSUND, Turkey (Interstat) — A pivotal women’s professional basketball matchup with potential playoff implications is set for Saturday when Istanbul GSK visits Samsun Ihtisas in Turkey A league action.

The contest features two of the league’s top teams, separated by just a half-game in the standings. Istanbul GSK arrives with a sterling 17-4 record across all competitions, while Samsun Ihtisas sits at 17-5. The game tips off at Ihtisas Arena.

Istanbul GSK, riding a three-game winning streak, is coming off a dominant 76-55 victory over Secil Kaucuk Mersin Basketball on March 21. Forward Helin Boybeyi was instrumental in that win, posting a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds in just 22 minutes. Boybeyi has been a key contributor during the team’s run.

Samsun Ihtisas looks to rebound after a narrow 76-72 home loss to Turgutlu on March 15. Despite the defeat, guard Leilani McIntosh has been a consistent force, playing every minute in the team’s last three contests. She is coming off a 32-point, 7-rebound performance in a road win over Kirklareli on March 8.

The season’s earlier head-to-head meeting went to Istanbul GSK, which secured a 66-57 home victory on Dec. 6, 2025.

The matchup pits Istanbul GSK’s balanced attack, which saw three players score in double figures in its last outing, against the high-minute production of Samsun Ihtisas’s backcourt leader McIntosh. With nearly identical records and a recent history of close games, Saturday’s clash is poised to be a tightly contested battle for positioning near the top of the Turkey A table.
