Kirklareli vs. Burhaniye

BALIKESIR, Turkey (Interstat) — A clash of Turkey A women’s basketball teams heading in opposite directions will occur Saturday when the surging Kirklareli visit the struggling Burhaniye at Balikesir.

Kirklareli (18-5), among the league’s top teams, enters on a dominant run, having won seven of its last eight games. Its most recent outing was a 91-33 demolition of Edirne Bld. Edirnespor on March 28. The club’s strength is anchored by center Mary Baskerville, who is in stellar form. Over her last three games, Baskerville has averaged 18.3 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks, including a triple-double in just 17 minutes in the win over Edirne.

They face a Burhaniye side (10-14) looking to halt a two-game skid and improve its playoff positioning. Burhaniye fell 67-62 to Mersin II last Saturday. The home team will rely on its own standout center, Eylul Minez, who is coming off a 14-point, 8-rebound performance in that loss and scored 19 points in a win over Edirne on March 20.

The previous meeting this season heavily favors the visitors. On Dec. 20, Kirklareli handled Burhaniye 74-51. Kirklareli’s overall record and recent form suggest a significant advantage, but the game will feature an intriguing battle in the paint between the in-form Baskerville and Burhaniye’s Minez.

Tipoff is set for Saturday, April 11, 2026, in Balikesir.
