ANKARA, Turkey (Interstat) — Two teams seeking their first victory of the young season will meet Saturday when Bursa visits Ormanspor in a Turkey A women’s professional basketball matchup.

Both teams enter the contest with identical 0-3 records across all competitions, adding urgency to the early-season fixture in the capital city.

Bursa is coming off an 86-70 home loss to Fenerbahce on Oct. 18. Esmery Martinez led the team with 15 points and nine rebounds in that defeat, while Jazmine Jones added eight points, seven rebounds and four assists. Sugranur Sonmez provided a spark off the bench with a team-high 16 points.

Ormanspor also looks to rebound from a recent loss, falling 80-72 to Besiktas on Oct. 19. Kristine Anigwe recorded a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds in the effort, and Brianna Fraser poured in a game-high 26 points to go with six rebounds and four assists.

The matchup presents a critical opportunity for one of these struggling squads to break into the win column and build momentum before the league schedule continues into November.
