Leon vs. CBF Manresa

Preview: Leon at CBF Manresa, Women’s LF

MANRESA, Spain (Interstat) — A surging Leon squad visits a CBF Manresa team seeking consistency in a Spain LF women’s professional basketball matchup Sunday.

Leon (17-6) enters on a three-game winning streak and sits among the league’s top teams. CBF Manresa (11-11) looks to build momentum after a 65-58 road win over Mondragon last Saturday snapped a two-game skid.

The visiting Leon will rely on forward Daniela Diaz, who is averaging 11 points and 6.8 rebounds over her last four games. She scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds in a 77-59 victory over Maresme on March 21. Guard Paula Vaquera, who also had 20 points in that win, and forward Naroa Martinez (13 points, nine rebounds) provide additional scoring punch.

For Manresa, guard Sira Beltran is a key contributor. She led the team with 12 points in the win over Mondragon. Forward Queralt Ribera, who scored a team-high 17 points in that game, and guard Desiree Zafra are also vital to the home team’s offense.

Leon won the previous meeting this season, 71-66 at home on Dec. 13, 2025.

Since a loss to GDKO Bizkaia on Feb. 22, Leon has won five of its last six games, showcasing a dominant defense that has held opponents under 60 points in three of those victories.

Manresa’s season has been marked by streaks, alternating wins and losses for much of the calendar. A 37-point home loss to Maristas on Jan. 31 highlights their occasional struggles, but a road win last week showed resilience.

Sunday’s game tips off at Nou Congost in Manresa. For Leon, a win solidifies their standing near the top of the table. For Manresa, a victory against a top-tier opponent would be a statement and push their record above .500.

Leon’s next game is April 11 at home against Ausarta. CBF Manresa travels to face TGN Basquet on April 11.
