Struggling TGN Basquet Faces Sanfer in LF Women’s Basketball Clash

AVILES, Spain (March 20, 2026) (Interstat) — The Sanfer women’s basketball team looks to solidify its position in the league standings Saturday when it hosts the struggling TGN Basquet in a Spain LF matchup at Aviles.

The game tips off at 6 p.m. local time.

Sanfer (11-10) enters the contest seeking to rebound from a narrow 78-73 home loss to Leon on March 7. Forward Emilie Larsen led Sanfer in that defeat with 17 points and six rebounds. She has been a consistent contributor, averaging 14 points and 6.7 rebounds over her last three games.

The hosts have split their last six games but hold a clear advantage in the season series, having defeated TGN Basquet 67-59 on Dec. 6.

TGN Basquet (2-19) is mired in a 10-game losing streak, most recently falling 60-46 to Leon on March 14. The team’s last victory came on Dec. 21, 2025.

Despite the team’s record, forward Brigitte Lefebvre Okankwu has been a standout performer. She is averaging 17.3 points and 10 rebounds over her last four games, including a 16-point, 15-rebound double-double in a loss to Mondragon on March 7. She will be the primary focus for TGN’s offense.

Sanfer’s defense, anchored by center Cristina Ugochukwu who grabbed 15 rebounds in the last game, will aim to contain her.

The matchup presents a stark contrast in fortunes. Sanfer aims to climb above .500 and maintain its playoff pursuit, while TGN Basquet desperately seeks to halt its lengthy skid and find a rare positive result on the road.
