Tresnjevka vs. Ragusa

DUBROVNIK, Croatia (Interstat) — A pivotal late-season women’s professional basketball clash is set for Saturday as Tresnjevka visits Ragusa at Dubrovnik Arena. With playoff positioning at stake, the matchup features two Croatian league teams trending in opposite directions.

Tresnjevka (16-10 overall) aims to rebound from a 76-68 home loss to Zagreb last Sunday. Despite the defeat, center Ana Vojtulek continued her dominant season, posting a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Vojtulek has been a force, averaging 20.3 points and 11.0 rebounds over her last three games, including a 28-point, 15-rebound performance in a win over Sibenik on March 29.

The visiting side holds both a season record advantage and recent head-to-head success, having defeated Ragusa 67-61 in Zagreb on Dec. 13. Tresnjevka’s offense has shown high explosiveness, scoring over 100 points in three of its last ten contests.

Ragusa (13-12), however, enters on a positive note after a commanding 79-58 road victory over KASL Split on April 11. The team’s engine is guard Lina Strilic, who dished out six assists in that win and has averaged 5.5 assists over her last three outings. Her playmaking will be key against a formidable Tresnjevka frontcourt.

While Ragusa’s season has been inconsistent, its home floor in Dubrovnik provides a notable advantage. The team has registered lopsided wins at home this season, including a 99-31 rout of Split in January.

The game represents a critical opportunity for Ragusa to level the season series and climb closer to .500, while Tresnjevka looks to solidify its standing above them in the table. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. local time (1600 GMT) on April 18.
