ALYTUS, Lithuania (Interstat) — Rokiskis will look to build on a winning start when it visits Alytaus Dzukija in a women’s professional basketball game on Tuesday.

Rokiskis opened its season with an 87-75 victory at RSU Merks. Shug Dickson led the way with 24 points, 11 rebounds and six assists in 35 minutes. Anna Suhak added 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Santa Okockyte scored 21 points and handed out four assists. The balanced effort gave Rokiskis a 1-0 record and momentum ahead of its first road test of the new campaign.

Alytaus Dzukija enters at 0-1 after a 90-79 loss at TTT Riga Juniores. Ruta Stipra paced the visitors with 13 points, seven rebounds, four assists and one block in 32 minutes. Dovile Saurazaite contributed 19 points, three rebounds and five assists, and Justina Leskauskaite finished with 10 points, nine rebounds, one assist and one block. Alytaus Dzukija will seek a stronger defensive performance in its home opener.

Dickson is the player to watch for Rokiskis. The guard filled the stat sheet in the opener, scoring efficiently while creating chances for teammates and helping on the boards. Her playmaking and rebounding will be a key part of Rokiskis’s attack. Stipra is the focal point for Alytaus Dzukija. She paired scoring with rebounding and playmaking in the loss and will need similar production for the hosts to stay close.

Rokiskis also received strong interior play from Suhak, who recorded a double-double, and steady perimeter contributions from Okockyte. Alytaus Dzukija got double-digit scoring from Saurazaite and Leskauskaite, but will need more balance to counter Rokiskis’s attack. Rokiskis will aim to carry its balanced scoring into the road matchup. Alytaus Dzukija will look to improve at home after its opening loss.

Rokiskis’s opening win came on the road, while Alytaus Dzukija’s first game ended in a road defeat. The hosts will try to use home court to establish rhythm early. Rokiskis will return home after this matchup for a game against Aistes LSU Kaunas. Alytaus Dzukija will remain at home for meetings with LCC and Klaipedos Neptunas. Those games follow this contest as both teams work through the opening portion of their schedules.
