KOSICE, Slovakia (Interstat) — Yaroslava Ivanyuk scored 29 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Trencin past CBK Kosice 69-68 on Saturday in a women’s professional basketball game. Trencin improved to 1-1, while CBK Kosice fell to 0-2. Ivanyuk also blocked one shot. Shiho Yamazaki added 13 points, four rebounds, six assists and one block for Trencin. Monika Frycova had five points, eight rebounds, one assist and three blocks, and Lanetta Williams contributed six points, six rebounds, one assist and two blocks. For CBK Kosice, Lucia Kasperanova posted 17 points and 10 rebounds. Oleksandra Tinshchuk recorded 14 points, six rebounds and nine assists, while Emma Kmetoniova scored 11 points and collected six rebounds. V. Rostotska added eight points, nine rebounds, four assists and one block. Eva Stanikova chipped in eight points and seven rebounds, and Kyra Liashenko had three points, four rebounds and five assists. CBK Kosice led 20-8 after the first quarter, but Trencin rallied with 21 second-quarter points to trail 35-29 at halftime. Trencin then outscored CBK Kosice 26-16 in the third and held on despite being outscored 17-14 in the fourth.
