GARDABAER, Iceland (Interstat) — Stjarnan will host Armann in a women’s professional basketball game on Tuesday, with both teams seeking their first win of the season.

Stjarnan enters with an 0-1 record after a 94-87 loss at KR Reykjavik on Tuesday. Dilja Larusdottir led Stjarnan with 29 points and seven rebounds in 34 minutes, and she added two assists. Stina Almqvist added 19 points, seven rebounds, three assists and one block in 33 minutes. Xaviera Dyer played 22 minutes and finished with four points, 16 rebounds, five assists and one block. Stjarnan will play its first home game of the season after opening on the road.

Armann also is 0-1 after a 104-65 home loss to Grindavik on Tuesday. Diamond Battles paced Armann with 20 points, three rebounds, seven assists and two blocks in 33 minutes. Milica Sirovina played 17 minutes and had six points, six rebounds and one assist. Jonina Karlsdottir played 30 minutes and finished with seven points, seven rebounds and one assist. Armann will play its first road game after opening at home.

Battles is the player to watch for Armann. In her most recent outing, she scored 20 points and distributed seven assists while adding three rebounds and two blocks. She led Armann in scoring, assists, blocks and minutes in the loss. Larusdottir is the player to watch for Stjarnan. She scored 29 points and grabbed seven rebounds in her most recent game. She also led Stjarnan in scoring and minutes in its opener while adding two assists.

Stjarnan will look to use its home court to even its record. Armann will try to bounce back from a lopsided defeat and find more balance alongside Battles. The matchup is the first meeting between the teams this season.
