Olympiacos at PAOK
THESSALONIKI (Interstat)—Olympiacos will put its unbeaten 5-0 record on the line Saturday when it visits PAOK in a women’s professional basketball game. Olympiacos enters as the hotter team, while PAOK is 1-2 and looking for a home response.
Olympiacos has opened the season with five straight wins, including a 78-68 victory at 1KS Sleza in its most recent game. Dulcy Fankam was the most productive player in that result, finishing with 14 points, eight rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 28 minutes. Eleanna Christinaki added 15 points, nine rebounds and five assists, and Lola Pendande contributed 14 points and five rebounds.
Fankam has been a consistent inside presence during the recent stretch. In the win over Sleza, she paired efficient scoring with rebounding and rim protection. In her previous outing against Ferrol, she scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds in 24 minutes. Her ability to impact both ends could be central to Olympiacos’s effort to remain perfect.
Olympiacos has also beaten Kronos 84-42, Baxi Ferrol 96-68, Amyntas 68-60 and Panseraikos 101-67 this season. The unbeaten start has been built on balanced scoring and strong margins, with the most recent result showing Olympiacos can close out a competitive road game.
PAOK, meanwhile, is coming off a 75-64 loss at Panathlitikos. PAOK has beaten Aris 70-68 this season and lost at Panathinaikos 91-52. The home side will need to control tempo and limit Olympiacos’s second-chance opportunities to stay within striking distance.
PAOK’s task is clear against a team that has yet to lose. The home team will try to use its home court to slow an Olympiacos attack that has produced at least 68 points in every game this season. Olympiacos will aim to keep pressure on PAOK early and lean on Fankam’s production in the paint.
The matchup also offers PAOK a chance to stabilize its early-season record against one of the league’s strongest sides. Olympiacos will be seeking a sixth straight win and another strong road performance before returning to its own home schedule. The contest is expected to be a useful test for both sides.
Olympiacos’s next stretch includes home games against CBK Mersin and Panathinaikos, a trip to Baxi Ferrol and a visit to Aris before a run of home contests. PAOK’s upcoming slate includes a trip to AEO Proteas Voulas and home games against Athinaikos, Panseraikos and Kronos. Those fixtures add importance to the Saturday meeting, with both teams trying to build momentum before their schedules turn.
Interstat’s game simulator is projecting a final score of Olympiacos 64, PAOK 58.
