AUCKLAND (Interstat) — S. Hoiho defeated Northern Kahu 78-66 on Saturday in a women’s professional basketball game. S. Hoiho improved to 2-1, while Northern Kahu fell to 1-2. Lil Dart led S. Hoiho with 19 points, three rebounds, four assists and one block. Paige Bradley posted 15 points, four rebounds and 13 assists. Rebecca Pizzey also scored 15 points, adding three rebounds, two assists and two blocks. Julie Wojta contributed 12 points, seven rebounds, four assists and one block. Marie Bertholdt added seven points and eight rebounds, while Samara Gallaher scored seven points. Erin Bollmann paced Northern Kahu with 14 points, six rebounds, seven assists and two blocks. Kayla Manuirirangi scored 10 points. Talya Brugler added nine points and five rebounds. Tayla Dalton had six points, six rebounds and three assists. S. Hoiho led 18-16 after the first quarter, 39-30 at halftime and 61-55 after three quarters before closing out the win. Northern Kahu used a 25-point third quarter to cut into the deficit, but S. Hoiho answered with 17 points in the fourth.
