ETO Basket at TFSE-MTK
BUDAPEST (Interstat)—TFSE-MTK will host ETO Basket in a women’s professional basketball game Saturday, with both teams looking to build early-season momentum in a matchup featuring two productive players and contrasting recent results.
ETO Basket enters at 2-1. The visiting team’s most recent game ended in a loss to Sopron. Virag Zsebe Weninger scored 10 points in 22 minutes, Sarengbe Sanogo added eight points and two blocks in 30 minutes, and Terka Dul contributed seven points, two rebounds, four assists and one block in 21 minutes. Dul is a player to watch for ETO Basket. Her recent performance showed her ability to affect the game beyond scoring, with four assists and a block to go with seven points and two rebounds in 21 minutes. ETO Basket also owns wins over BEAC and at Csata TKK this season, giving the visitors a 2-1 record despite the recent setback. The loss to Sopron marked ETO Basket’s lowest-scoring performance of the season. The team will need a balanced effort to counter TFSE-MTK’s home-floor energy.
TFSE-MTK is 1-1 and comes in after a dominant home victory over Szigetszentmiklos. Reka Manyoky paced the offense with 18 points, five rebounds, seven assists and two blocks in 24 minutes, and she is the player to watch for the home team. Aliz Janzso also scored 18 points, grabbed five rebounds and handed out one assist in 26 minutes, while Reka Bernath finished with 16 points, one rebound and four assists in 18 minutes. TFSE-MTK’s other result this season was a loss to Cegledi. That victory marked TFSE-MTK’s highest-scoring performance of the season. The team will try to carry the offensive form from its most recent win into Saturday’s game.
ETO Basket will aim to recover from the Sopron loss and rely on Dul for playmaking, rebounding help and defensive activity. TFSE-MTK will lean on Manyoky to continue creating chances for herself and her teammates. Both teams have shown they can score in bunches. TFSE-MTK has the benefit of playing at home, while ETO Basket will look to bounce back from its most lopsided result of the season.
Following Saturday’s game, TFSE-MTK is scheduled to visit BEAC and then host Csata TKK. ETO Basket is set to host NKA Pecs before traveling to Miskolc. TFSE-MTK’s upcoming slate also includes Atomeromu, Vasas Csata and NKA Pecs. ETO Basket will face Cegledi, Vasas Csata, Atomeromu, Szigetszentmiklos and BEAC during the same stretch. The teams are scheduled to meet again later in the season.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a final score of TFSE-MTK 89, ETO Basket 84.
