CEGLÉD, Hungary (Interstat) — The Cegledi women’s basketball team will host NKA Pecs on Wednesday in a professional matchup between clubs that have each opened the season with one win and one loss.

Cegledi split its first two games, falling at Sopron 90-66 before edging TFSE-MTK 70-67 in its most recent outing. Judit Barnai is the player to watch for Cegledi. In that victory, Barnai finished with 24 points, 17 rebounds, six assists and two blocks. C. Bickle also delivered a strong performance with 27 points, 12 rebounds and four assists. Petra Farkas added six points, four rebounds and one assist.

NKA Pecs also carries a 1-1 record into the game. The visiting side opened with a 69-59 loss at Atomeromu before rolling past Vasas Csata 94-47 in its last game. NKA Pecs will look to carry that form into the road contest against Cegledi. The team’s schedule ahead includes visits to ETO Basket, Csata TKK, TFSE-MTK, Miskolc and Vasas Csata, along with home games against Szigetszentmiklos, BEAC, Sopron and Atomeromu. NKA Pecs is also set to host Cegledi later in the season.

Cegledi will later travel to Miskolc, Vasas Csata and Szigetszentmiklos, while hosting Atomeromu, ETO Basket, Csata TKK, BEAC, Sopron and TFSE-MTK. Cegledi’s most recent win came behind the play of Barnai, Bickle and Farkas, a trio that combined for 57 points, 33 rebounds and 11 assists in the victory over TFSE-MTK. Barnai’s 17 rebounds and six assists helped Cegledi control the game, while Bickle’s 27 points led the scoring effort. Farkas contributed six points, four rebounds and one assist.

NKA Pecs enters the game after a 94-47 home win over Vasas Csata, a result that followed its season-opening loss at Atomeromu. The visiting team will aim to build on that performance as it begins a stretch that includes road games and home dates. Cegledi will seek to protect its home court and move above .500. Both teams are 1-1, giving the matchup added importance in the early portion of the schedule. The teams are also scheduled to meet again when Cegledi visits NKA Pecs.
