SOPRON, Hungary (Interstat) — Sopron used a dominant fourth quarter to defeat visiting Cegledi 90-66 on Saturday in a women’s professional basketball game. Zala Friskovec led Sopron with 18 points, four rebounds and three assists in 29 minutes. Masa Jankovic also scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds, while Nneka Ezeigbo added 14 points and eight rebounds. Kennedy Todd Williams contributed 13 points and seven rebounds, Sara Laczko had nine points, eight rebounds and five assists, and Franka Toth chipped in seven points and five rebounds. Sopron led 21-20 after the first quarter, extended its advantage to 42-30 at halftime and carried a 60-43 lead into the fourth before closing with a 30-23 edge. Cegledi’s C. Bickle had 18 points, six rebounds and five assists, Judit Barnai scored 17 points with five rebounds, Rita Silvino added 13 points and five assists, and Petra Farkas finished with five points and five rebounds. Sopron improved to 1-0; Cegledi dropped to 0-1.
