MONTPELLIER, France (Interstat) — Montpellier defeated Ensino 89-64 on Thursday in a women’s professional basketball game. Montpellier improved to 5-0, while Ensino fell to 1-4. Montpellier led 23-16 after the first quarter, 37-33 at halftime and 66-51 through three quarters. Ensino closed with 13 fourth-quarter points, and Montpellier added 23. Samantha Breen paced Montpellier with 12 points, 13 rebounds, two assists and one block. Laura Zolper added 12 points, three rebounds and two assists, and Stella Johnson had seven points, two rebounds and six assists. Kristin Williams led Ensino with nine points and two rebounds. Oumou Diarisso scored seven points with five rebounds for Montpellier. Zoe Hernandez added four points, three rebounds and two assists, while Priscilla Williams scored three points with one rebound for Ensino. Tetiana Yurkevichus had two rebounds and one assist for Ensino. Ensino shot 5 of 18 from the floor, 3 of 11 from three-point range and 3 of 4 from the free throw line. Montpellier shot 15 of 25 from the floor, 5 of 10 from three-point range and 3 of 5 from the line.
