SALAMANCA, Spain (Interstat) — Perfumerias Avenida beat MBK Ruzomberok 75-64 on Wednesday, using a decisive first quarter and a large free-throw advantage to secure the women’s professional basketball win. Avenida led 27-18 after the first quarter and 39-33 at halftime. Avenida stretched its lead in the third before Ruzomberok trimmed the final margin. Claudia Soriano paced Avenida with 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Rebeka Mikulasikova added 18 points and five rebounds, while Sara Roumy scored 17 points. Avenida made 26 of 28 free throws and grabbed 18 offensive rebounds. Ruzomberok was led by Olga Yatskovets with 20 points and nine rebounds. Zoesha Smith posted 14 points and 14 rebounds, and Andrea Andelova scored 16. Ruzomberok shot 24 of 67 from the floor and 8 of 31 from three-point range. Avenida finished with eight assists, while Ruzomberok had five assists and three blocks. Avenida improved to 3-1, while Ruzomberok dropped to 4-1. Both teams committed 12 turnovers.
