CAMPOBASSO, Italy (Interstat) — Campobasso defeated visiting ZKK Cinkarna Celje 75-53 on Wednesday in women’s professional basketball. Campobasso led 23-11 after the first quarter, 40-26 at halftime and 58-37 through three quarters before closing out the win. Elizabeth Scott paced Campobasso with 11 points, eight rebounds, two assists and one block in 23 minutes. Emma Giacchetti added six points, two rebounds and one assist in 19 minutes. Laura Meldere had four points, three rebounds and one assist in 18 minutes. Jana Guska led Cinkarna Celje with seven points, two rebounds and one assist in 22 minutes. Maria Miccoli had one point, two rebounds and four assists in 15 minutes. Beatrice Cere scored two points and grabbed one rebound in 11 minutes. Ana Anzic grabbed two rebounds in 12 minutes. Ziva Misjak Windisch added two points, one rebound and one assist in 18 minutes. Campobasso had six offensive rebounds and two assists, committed seven turnovers and 14 fouls. Cinkarna Celje committed four turnovers and six fouls. Campobasso improved to 3-1, while Cinkarna Celje fell to 2-1. Campobasso will visit Schio on Sunday. Cinkarna Celje will host Maribor on Saturday.
