NICE, France (Interstat) — Cavigal Nice edged visiting Union Hainaut 77-72 in a women’s professional basketball game Saturday. Union Hainaut led 38-36 at halftime and 59-56 after three quarters, but Cavigal Nice closed with a 21-13 fourth quarter. Pauline Lanfant led Nice with 21 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Astou Gaye added 12 points and nine rebounds, Aby Diallo had 14 points and five assists, Dorcas Nganfina scored 13, and Dieyneba Niang grabbed seven rebounds. Hatoumata Diakite paced Union Hainaut with nine points, 10 rebounds, three assists and one block. Grace Aguebor scored 16 points, Mame Gueye and Taisheka Porchia each had 12, and Pauline Lithard added 10. Nice shot 27 of 54 from the floor and 17 of 22 from the free-throw line, while Union Hainaut shot 27 of 62 and 14 of 17. Nice had seven offensive rebounds and seven assists; Union Hainaut had 10 offensive rebounds and 10 assists. Cavigal Nice improved to 4-1, and Union Hainaut fell to 1-4.
