MONTBRISON, France (Interstat) — Cavigal Nice defeated Montbrison 75-70 on Saturday in a women’s professional basketball game. Nice led 39-35 at halftime and 58-51 after three quarters, then held off Montbrison’s fourth-quarter push. Dorcas Nganfina paced Nice with 19 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and one block. Megan Olbrys added 23 points and five rebounds, while Aby Diallo scored 10 points with five rebounds. Nice shot 28 of 59 from the floor, 2 of 13 from 3-point range and 17 of 21 from the free-throw line. Montbrison shot 24 of 57 overall, 4 of 27 from deep and 18 of 25 at the line. Cristal Sontia Zeutsop recorded 12 points and 12 rebounds for Montbrison. Madelyn Batista scored 14 points with six rebounds and one block, Zarah Velleyen had nine points, three rebounds and four assists, and Mwinda Mukenge added eight points and four assists. Nice had 13 assists and 15 turnovers; Montbrison had eight assists and 18 turnovers. Both teams grabbed 12 offensive rebounds. Nice improved to 2-0, while Montbrison fell to 1-1.
