HOLON, Israel (Interstat) — Hapoel Jerusalem defeated Holon 62-51 on Monday in a women’s professional basketball game. Hapoel Jerusalem controlled the game early and led 41-26 at halftime after scoring 20 points in the first quarter and 21 in the second. Holon scored 12 in the first and 14 in the second. Hapoel Jerusalem added nine points in the third while Holon scored eight, giving Hapoel Jerusalem a 50-34 lead. Holon outscored Hapoel Jerusalem 17-12 in the fourth, but the rally fell short. Hapoel Jerusalem sealed the road win with steady play in the closing minutes. Hapoel Jerusalem improved to 1-0. Holon fell to 3-1. Holon had beaten AEO Proteas Voulas 88-56 and 79-46 earlier this season. Hapoel Jerusalem next hosts Maccabi Karmiel. Holon next plays at Hapoel Petah Tikva. The teams are scheduled to meet again later in the season.
